Hurricanes are the most powerful storms and they frequently originate in western Africa with a cluster of thunderstorms and, afterwards, head into the Atlantic. These hurricanes regulated the timing of the Atlantic Slave Trade. The hurricane season typically starts in June and ends in November.
Throughout history, hurricanes have hit venues from New England to the Florida Keys and the Gulf Coast. For example, the Great 1938 Hurricane hit New England and killed more than 600 people. It was a strong Category 3 hurricane. Hurricane names are drawn up for a four-year rotation. Male names were added in 1979 for Atlantic storms.
Fifty years and a few hours after the lynching of Emmett Till on August 28, the eye of Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast and destroyed the home of Sen. Trent Lott, who failed to protest Till’s lynching and now preaches that if Strom Thurmond, a deadbeat dad, had been sent to the White House in 1948 as a Dixiecrat, America would not have a race problem today.
Black leaders repeatedly claim that the lynching of Emmett Till jumpstarted the civil rights movement. Yet, Black leaders meticulously avoided Money, MS, on Sunday, August 28, as though they were acting on orders. They were. This was fifty years after Till’s lynching and no commemoration of his lynching occurred.
By not being in Money on August 28, Black leaders were able to get a head start on avoiding to speak out early for the displaced Blacks in Mississippi and Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina, a Category 4 hurricane, hit New Orleans in the early hours of August 29. The media resurrected their tongues on September 2 to enhance media ratings.
Before Hurricane Katrina, FEMA had already asserted that New Orleans was a disaster waiting to happen but refused to take any action to minimize the human hazards and economic risks. FEMA conducted drilling exercises under fictional hurricanes “Zebra” and “Pam” soon after Bush 43 stole the White House.
Congress made sure that FEMA’s prediction would become real by subtracting $71 million from the Army Corps of Engineers’ budget for New Orleans this year. Congress obviously intended that unprecedented flooding would accompany a future hurricane in New Orleans.
We are witnessing a criminal conspiracy and Black leaders are raising red herrings. New Orleans is a re-enactment of Princeville, NC, in 1999 but on a larger scale. Hurricane Floyd was a strong Category 2 hurricane. The chief suspect, in both venues, is the Army Corps of Engineers.
Some residents in New Orleans are accusing city officials of dynamiting the levees to save the French Quarter. Experts had previously stated that a Category 4 or 5 hurricane would seriously damage the French Quarter, a money-making tourist attraction. The French Quarter is still intact.
Hurricane Katrina was named on August 25. It made landfall in Florida on the same day. It had been predicted earlier that the Florida Panhandle was its destination. These storms feed off the three Ws: wind, water and waves. Once a hurricane hits land, however, it typically weakens.
Inexplicably, this hurricane was revitalized and sped off to New Orleans, hundreds of miles away. This diversion avoided a headache for Jeb Bush. If Hurricane Katrina had hit Florida solidly, Bush 43 would have been in Florida within five hours rather than the five days it took for him to arrive in New Orleans.
The initial federal project to modify hurricanes was called Stormfury. In 1963, Hurricane Beulah was seeded and the wind speed in Beulah’s eye was affected. Hurricane Debbie in 1969 was also seeded. Hurricane modification technology is a work in progress.
Hurricane Katrina was only a limited scientific feat. Katrina’s wrath missed New Orleans, which was destined for compete devastation. Mad scientists are not only seeking to change wind speeds after a landfall but also to change a hurricane’s direction through the use of chemicals like silver iodide.
Poor Blacks in New Orleans never knew what hit them. A mandatory evacuation order with free transportation for residents of New Orleans should have been issued no later than Friday. Mayor Ray Nagin waited until Sunday to order a mandatory evacuation of all Crescent City residents but refused to provide free transportation.
On Saturday, Bush 43 declared Louisiana an emergency area and promised federal aid. Of course, Bush had prior information about the devastation that would be visited on New Orleans. The mayor also knew that New Orleans was a disaster waiting to happen.
In the meantime, half of Louisiana’s National Guard was stationed in Iraq, in violation of the Constitution. Article One provides in pertinent part: “To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions.” A state militia is restricted to domestic soil.
Strict constructionists on the Supreme Court should not hesitate to declare a state militia’s presence in Iraq as illegal. Similarly, this military presence violates the Second Amendment, which provides for “the right of the people to keep and bear arms” in order to maintain a “well regulated militia.”
The Supreme Court has already ruled that a law enforcement official may not use deadly force to stop a fleeing felon. Congress passed posse comitatus legislation in 1878 to prohibit military forces from participating in domestic law enforcement activities. Only the New Orleans Police Department should be patrolling the streets and making any necessary arrests.
Acts of self-defense and self-preservation are not criminal acts. In an emergency, the penal law permits a person to seize basic necessities from abandoned property. Instead of issuing an executive order allowing persons to seize basic necessities, the mayor criminalized these persons and summoned federal troops.
Given this backdrop, it is excruciatingly disturbing that Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco of Louisiana would issue a shoot-to-kill policy for military personnel and for Bush 43 to dispatch the Army’s 82nd Airborne to New Orleans, especially since the head of FEMA admitted at a Saturday morning press conference that no gunfire had occurred in New Orleans since Thursday. These federal troops should be in Iraq.
I would recommend that medical examiner offices be established and that every dead body should undergo an autopsy before it is released to the next-of-kin. Establishing the time, manner and cause of death must be done for every body, and all criminal investigations should be removed from the Department of Justice.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that the displaced poor of New Orleans will never return to their homes. The military base closings that Bush recently announced will be used to warehouse Blacks. Like the Blacks in New Orleans, the rest of us will never know what hit us under a Roberts Supreme Court.
Our fate was sealed in the Immigration Act of 1965 and we were constructively reclassified as wasting assets. Now, we are “refugees.” Bush 43 is enforcing the Constitution with criminal intent. The new Supreme Court will also construe the Constitution according to criminal intent to justify Bush’s conduct. The late Justice William Rehnquist will look like a saint.
