Knowledge of Jewish Roots Important to Obama

The morning following his speech in Minneapolis to announce that he was the presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, Sen. Barack Obama's first speech was to AIPAC in Washington, DC to ensure his uncompromising commitment to Israel and to guarantee that Jerusalem would be the undivided capital of Israel.
In his speech, he noted his absence of roots as a child. His first knowledge of any spiritual or cultural roots came from an American Jew who was a camp counselor when Obama was eleven years of age. He learned about Jewish history and culture including the Holocaust.
This speech is especially important to me because it points out the social development of children. Obama pointed out that he had no knowledge of his own roots. According to Obama, his father abandoned him when he was two years of age. His mother was from Kansas and his maternal grandparents played an active role in his development.
The hand that rocks the cradle rules the nation. White hands are rocking the cradle that rules the Black colony. This is leading to mentacide. The result is physical violence and internecine warfare. In attempting to solve our youth problem, we are attacking the victims and elevating the perpetrators.
Freedom Retreat for Boys and Girls is the only African-centered, overnight, outdoor, summer program in the nation. It must be duplicated throughout the land to save our children. It must also be strengthened and displayed as a source of racial pride. The next Barack Obama must be able to identify a program in his own community which leads to African socialization.
