Should Eva Doyle Walk The Freedom Trail Alone?

During the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950's and 60's, Blacks would hold nightly rallies. We were on a mission. From tomorrow, July 11, 2010, until victory is won, November 2, 2010 we must energize the movement nightly and certainly on the weekends like on Sundays.

In the 1950's and early 1960's, we were seeking social rights. This struggle culminated in the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. A year later, we would earn voting rights under the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This struggle would end up putting Black faces in high places. The struggle today should be aimed at political rights. Political presence is not tantamount to political rights.

Eva Doyle, the lieutenant gubernatorial candidate on the Freedom Party and a resident of Buffalo, will be welcomed to New York City for the first time on July 11, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Siloam Presbyterian Church, 260 Jefferson (cor. of Marcy). "A" train to Nostrand Ave. This will be a rare appearance for her in New York City.

Sis. Doyle took a bold step towards freedom for us by putting her hat in the ring. No Black woman like Harriet Tubman, Ida B Wells, Rosa Parks and Fannie Lou Hamer should ever have to walk the freedom trail alone again. We need a massive show of force on Sunday in Brooklyn. The world should know that our people will never again be cowards.
